Bespoke Garden Lighting Installation

A carefully planned 12V garden lighting installation at Tulleys Farm in Sussex, delivered by Harlequin Electrical in collaboration with NiteLux.
Working alongside the NiteLux team, we delivered the electrical installation for a bespoke outdoor lighting scheme designed to transform the landscape after dark.
From planning cable routes and positioning fittings to the final installation, every detail was considered to create a professional finish that enhances the garden without overpowering it.
The project
Garden lighting starts long before the lights are switched on.
Before installation began, we walked the site together to consider the layout of the garden, key features, cable routes and the positioning of individual fittings,
This allowed the lighting design and electrical installation to be considered together from the outset, helping achieve the best possible result while keeping the infrastructure discreet within the landscape.
Planning the lighting installation
The position of an outdoor light can completely change the effect it creates,
Careful consideration was therefore given to where each fitting would sit, what it would illuminate and how the different areas of light would work together across the garden.

The aim wasn't to flood the entire garden with light. Instead, different fittings were used to create layers of illumination, highlighting selected planting and architectural features while providing practical lighting where it was needed.
Creating depth, warmth and atmosphere
Once the sun goes down, the impact of a carefully designed garden lighting scheme really becomes apparent.
Feature uplighting draws attention to planting and key areas of the landscape, while wall, sleeper and step lighting provides lower-level illumination around the garden.
By combining different lighting techniques, the finished installation creates warmth, depth and atmosphere, allowing the space to be enjoyed in an entirely different way after dark.
Just as importantly, the fittings and electrical infrastructure have been carefully integrated into the landscape so the installation remains unobtrusive during the day.
